The working principle of analog oscilloscope

The vertical input terminal (V terminal) on the panel of the analog oscilloscope is amplified by the vertical axis amplifier and then added to the vertical deflection electrode. At the same time, there is a horizontal scanning voltage generation circuit inside the analog oscilloscope, and the generated horizontal scanning sawtooth wave voltage is added to the horizontal deflection electrode of the analog oscilloscope. This circuit is also known as the time axis scanning oscillator circuit.

Key button function of analog oscilloscope (2)

The key button control area of the analog oscilloscope is located on the right side of the entire oscilloscope, and the key button control area of a typical analog oscilloscope. Analog oscilloscope operating buttons have their own functions, the following combined with the analog oscilloscope physical drawings are introduced.
(1) POWER switch: It is used to switch on and off the power supply. When the power supply is switched on, the power indicator above the power switch lights up.
(2) Indicator light: indicates the working status of the oscilloscope. The power switch and indicator light of the analog oscilloscope are shown in the figure.

Equivalent time sampling oscilloscope vs. real-time oscilloscope, what's the difference?

The choice of equivalent time sampling oscilloscope or real-time oscilloscope, in the past, mainly depends on the bandwidth requirements; and now with the introduction of high-performance instruments, this distinction is becoming increasingly blurred. This paper will discuss the principles of sampling input waveforms by each type of oscilloscope and explain their trigger requirements. The advantages of each type of oscilloscope are summarized at the end of the paper.

The function of the oscilloscope applications and types of characteristics

An oscilloscope is an electronic instrument used to display and observe signal waveforms and related parameters, which can observe and directly measure the shape, amplitude and period of signal waveforms, whose shape is shown in the figure. All electrical parameters or physical quantities that can be converted into electrical signals can be converted into equivalent signal waveforms for observation, such as current, electrical power, impedance, temperature, displacement, pressure, magnetic field, etc.
