Key Applications
As devices and interfaces continue to increase in speed and complexity, the M8195A Arbitrary Waveform Generator's rich feature set gives you the ability to generate the signals you need for applications such as digital applications, optoelectronic communications, advanced research, broadband radar and satellite communications.
Coherent optical communications - A single M8195A module can generate two independent I/Q baseband signals (dual polarization = 4 channels) at baud rates up to and beyond 32 GBaud
Multi-level/multi-channel digital signals - can generate signals up to 32 GBaud baud rate, such as NRZ, PAM4, PAM8, DMT, etc. Protocols such as HDMI™, C-PHY™ and D-PHY™ can also be supported. Embed/de-embed channels, add jitter, ISI, noise and other distortions
Physics, chemistry and electronics research - generate arbitrary waveforms with tight mathematical definitions, precise ultra-short pulses and ultra-broadband linear FM
Broadband RF/Microwave - generates ultra-broadband RF signals with instantaneous bandwidths from DC to 25 GHz for aerospace/defense/communications applications
Application-specific random interference (RI) sources require the M8070A
The Keysight M8195A Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) provides up to four output channels simultaneously on a single-slot AXIe module with sample rates up to 65 GSa/s, bandwidths up to 25 GHz, and 8-bit vertical resolution.
As devices and interfaces become faster and more complex, the rich functionality of the M8195A AWG gives you the power to generate the signals you need for applications such as digital applications, advanced research, broadband radar, satellite communications, and fiber optic communications.
The advanced 3-stage sequence generation feature enables longer signal scenarios. An external dynamic control option is also available when the M8197A module needs to synchronize multiple M8195A modules.
The M8195A Arbitrary Waveform Generator provides trigger inputs for ±20 ps time delay accuracy when used in conjunction with the M8197A multi-channel synchronization module.
When combined with the N5990A software options 151 and 153, the M8195A provides an HDMI and MHL receiver test solution.
The M8195A Arbitrary Waveform Generator can also be controlled by the M8070A Bit Error Rate Test System software with the M8085A software plug-in to generate test signals compliant with the MIPI C-PHY™ and D-PHY™ standards.
The M8195A Arbitrary Waveform Generator, combined with the 81195A Optical Modulation Generator software, provides an innovative approach to real-time signal generation that can speed up your testing by a factor of 100.
It generates signals and derates in real time. Using FIR filters and other DSP functions, you can perform pulse shaping and change optical stress test conditions such as polarization mode dispersion (PMD) or phase noise.
With real-time modes, sequence generation capabilities, and deep memory, you can push past limitations and explore new test frontiers. Explore new opportunities.
Additional Information
The M8195A is also available through the system software suite, the M8195S. The M8195S can be dynamically configured for the number of channels required. In addition to the module itself, AXIe enclosures, embedded controllers or external PC connectivity can be added automatically. In addition, the system is pre-configured prior to shipment.
