In order to evaluate optical modules used in optical communication systems, BERTs and sampling oscilloscopes are required. Previously, evaluating typical optical modules such as QSFP28 and SFP28 required the use of separate BERTs and sampling oscilloscopes, but with the all-in-one BERTWave MP2110A, which has a built-in 4-channel BERT and dual-channel sampling oscilloscopes, the need for separate instruments has been eliminated, thus reducing both instrument capital and production costs.
Furthermore, the BERTWave MP2110A not only measures the bit error rate (BER) of up to four channels simultaneously on the RX side of the optical module, but also performs eye diagram template testing and eye diagram analysis of up to four channels simultaneously on the Tx side. In addition, the MP2110A sampling oscilloscope's sampling rate of up to 250,000 samples/second - six times faster than previous-generation instruments - enables faster execution of eye diagram template tests and eye diagram analysis. Supports NRZ signal mask edge measurements and jitter analysis. Also analyzes PAM4 signals and supports TDECQ measurements up to 53 Gbaud. With the BERTWave MP2110A, BER measurements and eye diagram analysis can be performed simultaneously, reducing measurement time by 65%.
The MP2110A BERT measures bit rates from 24.3 Gb/s to 28.2 Gb/s in its standard configuration, and from 9.5 Gb/s to 14.2 Gb/s with the Opt-093 installed. The built-in sampling oscilloscope supports bandwidths of 40 GHz (electrical I/F), 35 GHz (SMF, optical I/F), and 25 GHz (MMF, optical I/F). In addition, the sampling oscilloscope comes standard with a built-in 100 Gb/s band Bessel filter for measuring optical signals. The excellent performance helps ensure higher throughput of optical modules.
Furthermore, the MP2110A is easy to operate with its simplified setup and easy-to-use user interface, and backward-compatible with the MP2100B's remote commands, ensuring hassle-free instrument upgrades.
In addition, the stable operation of the built-in PC ensures excellent performance in any operating environment.
