Keysight 81624B optical power probes not only measure with greater accuracy, but are specifically designed to ensure low polarization dependence, low spectral ripple, and high return loss.
The 8162xB series optical power probes feature a large area detector in the remote probe for flexible positioning to perform accurate power measurements. Features include averaging time settings (100 µs to 10 s), automatic power ranging, minimum and maximum value monitoring, and logging capability for up to 20k samples. Fiber adapters are available for common types of connectors, including MT ribbon fiber connectors and bare fiber clamps. (See www.keysight.com/find/octaccessories.) D-type adapters are magnetically secured for quick replacement. These probes also include the removable 81624DD adapter ring for use with threaded adapters. These probes connect to the 816x host using the 81618A single channel or 81619A dual channel interface module.
Benefits
Low relative uncertainty reduces the impact of using connector connections, handling the fiber and using leads for stable test configurations
Large detector area reduces the effects of connector misalignment, ensuring more repeatable measurements Less power per square millimeter makes the optical probe more durable for high power measurements and ensures better linearity
