Based on a common cavity and laser module design, this laser source offers narrow linewidths and low levels of self-emission, enabling excellent spectral loss measurement ranges in both the stopband and passband when used with the Keysight N774xA multiport power meter or Keysight 816xxx power meter module. 81609A is capable of fast stepping to discrete wavelengths with a resolution of 0.1 pm The 81609A can quickly step to discrete wavelengths with a resolution of 0.1 pm and has a typical wavelength repeatability of ±3 pm, making it ideal for cost-effective testing of broadband optical equipment.

  • Model: 81609A

  • Name:Tunable Laser Source

  • Brand:KEYSIGHT

  • Category:General Electronic Test >Tunable Laser Source

  • Product Attributes:Mainframe

Function

  • Wavelength: 1450-1650 or 1490-1640 nm

  • Tuning time: 300 ms in 1 nm steps

  • Maximum power: > +12 dBm peak (typical)

  • Signal to SSE ratio: ≥ 75 dB/nm (typical)

  • Absolute wavelength accuracy: ±10 pm (typical)

The Keysight 8160xA tunable laser source features a co-cavity laser module design. Sharing a narrow linewidth and low spontaneous emission level, they achieve excellent spectral loss measurement ranges in both the stopband and passband when used with the Keysight N774xA multiport power meter or Keysight 816xxx power meter modules.

The built-in gas chamber and self-tuning features ensure excellent long-term stability to minimise cost of ownership. In the 8160xA series, cost-effective and base models are available to provide more cost-effective options in terms of output power, tuning modes and speeds, wavelength accuracy and repeatability.

Please note that the 81609A has been discontinued but is still supported. You may wish to consider its replacement, the N7779C stepper tunable laser source, which is available in a more compact version.
