The Keysight N7783B thermal cycling device can be fully controlled by the Keysight N7782B PER analyser to perform accurate and repeatable temperature cycling of the fibre under test. The PER measurement system consists of the Keysight N7782B and Keysight N7783B for outstanding accuracy and repeatability. Easy-to-use features and automated interfaces, such as an analogue output port for active alignment, make the PER Measurement System particularly effective in production environments.

Contact angle characterisation

Using two thermal cycling devices (Keysight N7783B) it is possible to characterise the optical connection, e.g. optical splice, between two polarisation maintaining fibres (PMF). This avoids the effect of input polarisation or later fibre on the output by isolating the angular deviation of the connection between the two thermal cycling devices.
