With the N7747A and N7748A, the N77 platform now offers compact automation instruments with enhanced optical performance. The outstanding optical performance combined with higher sensitivity (-110 dBm) and corresponding low noise and high stability allows accurate measurement and monitoring of weak signals and small signal variations. High relative power accuracy, low polarization dependence, and low spectral ripple support the instruments for more accurate measurements.
These instruments combine the proven optical performance of the 81634B sensor module with the compact form factor of the N77 series platform, 100 times the memory depth per channel of previous models, faster data transfer rates, and continuous recording capabilities. The ability to record new data while uploading buffered data allows for continuous monitoring of weak and small signal variations over long periods of time. Up to eight high-sensitivity optical power meters can be installed in a single rack unit. Optical connections are made using the interchangeable 81000xI connector interface system.
