Features.
Enhanced stable He-Ne reference laser with double lifetime
Absolute wavelength accuracy: ± 0.2 ppm
Differential wavelength accuracy: ± 0.15 ppm
Wavelength scan of less than 0.5 seconds
Wavelength scan of less than 0.3 seconds with fast update option
With ±0.2 ppm absolute wavelength accuracy and ±0.15 ppm differential accuracy, the new Keysight 86122C multi-wavelength meter is a top-of-the-line wavelength meter for optical communications testing. Its 1270 to 1650 nm wavelength range covers all fiber-to-the-home, metro, and long-haul transmission systems. The instrument can measure the spectra of up to 1,000 laser lines at a time, which is more than enough for fully populated dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems.
The new 86122C is an updated version of the proven 86122A and 86122B. It is used to efficiently develop, manufacture and validate tunable emission lasers and optical subsystems for today's and tomorrow's high-speed applications. The product family is equally popular on the manufacturing floor and engineer's bench due to its reliability and durability, and is rugged enough to be installed on board. Statistics from most of the industry's installed wavelength meters allow us to continually fine-tune our instruments to reduce cost of ownership and extend their use, especially in 24/7 operational testing: we have extended the recommended recalibration interval for the 86122C to two years and doubled the life expectancy of the built-in reference laser. The new multi-wavelength meter comes with a five-year warranty that covers not only the reference laser, but also all optical and electronic components. To ensure continued supportability, the 86122C is based on Windows ® 7. A front and rear panel accessible USB port hosts a USB flash drive for data exchange, a mouse and keyboard for comfortable operation.
New quick update option for the 86122C multi-wavelength meter
Our flagship model, the Keysight 86122C, now offers faster update rates. The new option, 86122C-110, accelerates the update rate from 2 times per second to 3 times per second. Measurement cycle time has been reduced from 0.5 seconds to 0.3 seconds. For compatibility reasons, the previous update rates are still available with option 86122C-100.
Benefits.
The 86122C has been optimized with a combination of product enhancements, a 2-year recommended recalibration period, and a 5-year standard warranty to reduce cost of ownership and minimize downtime, all at no additional cost.
A warm-up time of only 15 minutes is sufficient to achieve the specified accuracy.
Angled connector options are available to avoid affecting non-isolated sources.
Its fast wavelength scan covering the entire 1270 - 1650 nm range allows you to efficiently characterize optical devices, such as tunable emitters, in relation to wavelength.
Wavelength accuracy allows you to determine accurate channel characterization in dense WDM systems to detect wavelength shifts of channels and crosstalk between adjacent channels.
The high input power level of +10 dBm (+18 dBm safe input level) allows you to test transmitters without additional connections and instrumentation such as attenuators.
Built-in applications for optical signal-to-noise, wavelength and power drift support intelligent stand-alone test stations, reducing floor space requirements and costly test program development.
The built-in He-Ne reference laser guarantees accurate absolute wavelength measurements that can be determined in real time from standards at any time, and ensures accurate and repeatable experimental results.
