With the popularity of cloud computing, the demand for optical modules in data centers is increasing day by day. Among them, the demand for SFP+ modules (for 10GbE) and QSFP+ modules (40GbE (10Gbit/s×4) is growing even faster. The all-in-one BERTWave MP2100B has a built-in BERT tester and sampling oscilloscope that can simultaneously run BER tests and eye diagram analysis required for developing and manufacturing modules. the number of BERT channels can be expanded to four, and it supports 4-channel simultaneous BER measurements. Increasing the number of channels significantly reduces the measurement time of the QFSP+ module. If the number of channels is not increased, the measurement time will be relatively long.

The all-in-one sampling oscilloscope with integrated BERT simplifies measurement system configuration and control to support simultaneous BER measurements and EYE pattern analysis, reducing measurement time by approximately 40% compared to combining separate instruments.


In addition, the BERTS can be extended to 4 inches to support synchronized error measurements on all QSFP+ module channels, which can further reduce measurement time by 70% since time-consuming channel switching operations have been eliminated.

MP2100B Features


High-Speed BER Testing


The MP2100 B uses the BERT channel ranking function to support batch setup and measurement of up to 4 channels, and also has a built-in standard function that enables measurement results to be captured in batches, dramatically reducing measurement time for 40 GbE (10 Gbit/s×4) QSFP+ BER. In addition, it is capable of capturing BER measurement results in approximately 10 ms, which also reduces measurement time.


Fast Sampling Mode/High-Speed Eye Analysis


The MP2100B incorporates a new standard feature, the Fast Sampling Mode. In addition to providing the same high-speed 100k samples/second as the previous model, the new Fast Sampling Mode increases the sampling speed to 150k samples/second, which is 1.5 times faster than conventional eye chart analysis.


Wideband Operating Frequency


As standard, the built-in PPG and ED operate at a 1/N bit rate in the range of 8.5 Gbit/s to 11.32 Gbit/s. With the installation of Option 092, all bit rates from 125 Mbit/s to 12.5 Gbit/s used by many applications such as STM1, 10GFC, etc. can be supported in one unit.



Clock recovery function


The ED clock recovery function (standard function) enables BER analysis without an external clock by inputting a data signal.


Eye diagram/pulse sampling clock recovery function (Options 053, 054, 055)
