M8040A keysight 64 Gbaud High Performance Bit Error Rate Tester

With shorter hopping times and lower inherent jitter, the M8040A high-performance BERT delivers pristine NRZ and PAM4 signals at data rates up to 64 GBaud. The M8040A's remote front end and 1.85 mm short cable allow the test point to be as close to the device under test as possible, minimizing signal attenuation due to lossy channels.

Target Applications

The M8040A is designed for R&D and test engineers to help them characterize chips, devices, transceiver modules and subassemblies, boards, and systems. These devices and systems under test are equipped with serial I/O ports and data rates up to 32 GBaud and 64 Gbaud and are used primarily in the server, computing, data center, and communications industries.

Infiniband-HDR, and proprietary interfaces between chips, chips and modules, backplanes, repeaters, and active optical cables.

The M8040A 64 Gbaud BERT's code generator provides pure 32 and 26.5625 Gbaud PAM4 output signals.
