The R&S®RTA4000 takes the power of ten to the next level with best-in-class signal integrity and fast-response, ultra-deep memory. Rohde & Schwarz's specially designed 10-bit ADC combines extremely low noise performance with top memory depth to generate high-fidelity waveforms when unexpected measurement challenges are encountered, ensuring faster and more accurate measurements.
Signal analysis: Get results fast (see details of small signals present in large signals)
The R&S®RTA4000 uses a 10-bit analog-to-digital converter designed by Rohde & Schwarz, which offers a 4x improvement in accuracy compared to conventional 8-bit analog-to-digital converters. The higher the resolution, the clearer the waveform, which in turn reveals more details of the signal that might otherwise be missed. For example, when measuring the characteristics of a switching power supply, it is necessary to measure the voltage when the switching device is turned on and off at the same time in a single capture.
Segmented storage (100 Msample (standard); 200 Msample (interleaved mode))
The R&S®RTA4000 offers best-in-class storage depth: up to 100 Msample per channel and up to 200 Msample in interleave mode. this is ten times the storage depth of similar oscilloscopes. Users can even capture longer acquisition sequences at high sampling rates for more detailed analysis, such as analyzing transient response of switching power supplies.
Longer acquisition time at full bandwidth (segmented storage: 1000 Msample with history function)
The R&S®RTA-K15 option with deep segmented storage enables analysis of signal sequences with long observation times. Protocol signals with communication intervals (e.g. I²C or SPI) can be captured in seconds or minutes. The segment length is adjustable and the storage depth of 1000 Msample can be optimally utilized. In history mode, all acquired waveforms in the 1000 Msample maximum segment memory can be recalled and analyzed.
Logic analysis with mixed-signal oscilloscope option (16 additional digital channels)
With the R&S®RTA-B1 option, the R&S®RTA4000 can be upgraded to a mixed-signal oscilloscope with 16 additional digital channels and intuitive operation. The oscilloscope can simultaneously capture and analyze analog and digital signals from embedded designs. For example, delays between analog-to-digital converter inputs and outputs can be easily determined using cursor measurements.
Waveform and code pattern generator (generates analog and digital excitation)
With data rates of up to 50 Mbit/s, the R&S®RTA-B6 waveform and code pattern generator is suitable for education as well as hardware prototyping. In addition to the usual sine, square/pulse, ramp and noise waveforms, the generator can output arbitrary waveforms as well as 4-bit signal code patterns. Waveforms and code patterns can be imported as CSV files or copied from the oscilloscope waveform. Predefined code patterns, such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN/LIN, can be used.
