The Exfo IQS-3150 series variable attenuator is a versatile variable attenuator. It can be used as a normal attenuator or equipped with an integrated power meter, allowing you to work not only in attenuation, but also with power level requirements.
IQS-3150 modules are high-performance attenuator modules that are part of the IQS product line. These modules are configured for singlemode or multimode fiber and are compliant with optical return loss (ORL) measurement standards for transmission equipment. IQS-3150 variable attenuators are available in four models: standard singlemode, standard multimode, self-adjusting singlemode, and self-adjusting multimode. The self-adjusting module offers two modes of operation: attenuation and power output. The attenuation mode allows you to use a variety of attenuation levels. The output power mode allows you to request a fixed output power value and the module will automatically adjust the attenuation based on that value.
The IQS-3150 Variable Attenuator supports local control (via IQS Manager software) and remote control (via GPIB, RS-232 or Ethernet TCP/IP using SCPI commands or the provided LabVIEW driver).
